The pillow was made by Berber women in southern Morocco by hand.
Agave silk, also called Sabra, was used for this purpose, which is extracted from the leaves of the agave. The leaves are broken after harvesting, soaked in water and then spun and dyed. Together with cotton threads, they are used to make particularly elastic and robust fabrics.
The cushions are embroidered with ornaments and geometrical patterns borrowed from the tattooing tradition of the Berbers and have different meanings depending on the tribe. This is how every pillow becomes unique.
